Write It

Here to help

Write It on your iPhone.

Your Google Docs, your writing voice, and one membership. Find help with connecting, continuing your work, your membership, and getting back on track.

The wrong Google account is connected

Open Settings in Write It. Your name and email at the top identify your Write It account and membership. The Google Docs row shows the account that receives your work. Tap Google Docs → Change Google account to choose another destination. This does not move your membership. To use a different Write It account, save your work before signing out; signing out clears local drafts.

My school blocks the connection

Some schools restrict access to third-party apps. Ask your school administrator whether Write It can access Google Docs and Drive. You can use an approved personal account for documents you are allowed to move there. Do not bypass school restrictions or share restricted files.

Google Docs will not connect

Check your connection, then open Settings → Google Docs and try again. Complete Google’s permission screen for Docs and Drive. If the browser was closed or the link expired, start a fresh connection from the app. Select the account with edit access to the document. Cancelling connection does not discard your captured assignment.

I cannot find my completed work

Open the assignment from Home and choose Open your document. Confirm the Google Docs account shown in Settings. A scheduled or paused assignment may not be finished yet: check its status and any questions it needs you to answer. You can also look in Google Drive under that connected account. Do not start a duplicate assignment while the first one is still running.

My connection dropped or progress stopped

Your saved capture and local document edits remain on this iPhone until you sign out or remove the app. Submitted cloud work can continue with the app closed. Reconnect and open the same assignment to refresh its status. Retry the saved request if submission failed. If the document changed elsewhere, review the conflict before saving your local edits. Do not uninstall to fix a connection problem.

Getting Premium in the app

Open Settings → Your membership. You can buy Premium in the app through Apple in two ways. Premium Monthly renews every month until you cancel, and eligible new subscribers start with a 7-day free trial. A Premium Semester Pass is one payment that covers the current semester and does not renew automatically; near the end of a semester, it covers the next semester instead. If you already have a Semester Pass, you can buy the pass for the next semester in the last two weeks of yours. Before you pay, the app shows the price, whether it renews, and the last day a Semester Pass covers. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Where the app offers it, you can also choose a plan on write-it.us.

Manage or cancel an App Store subscription

Apple bills subscriptions bought in the app, so you manage and cancel them with your Apple ID: open iPhone Settings → Apple ID (your name at the top) → Subscriptions → Write It, or tap Manage subscription on the membership screen in Write It. To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial or the current month ends. Premium stays on until the end of the period you already paid for. A Semester Pass never renews, so there is nothing to cancel.

Open App Store subscriptions

My purchase did not unlock Premium

Make sure you are signed in to the Write It account you bought Premium with. Open Settings → Your membership and tap Restore Purchases; this also works on a new iPhone. A new purchase can take a minute to unlock, so please do not buy it again. An App Store purchase belongs to the Write It account that was signed in when it was made. If Write It says the purchase belongs to another account, sign in with that account instead. If Premium still does not appear, contact support with the order ID from Apple’s receipt email.

I already pay for Write It

Sign in with the same Write It account you use on the website or extension. A Plus or Premium membership bought on write-it.us or in the extension works in the app without a second purchase, and Premium bought in the app also works on the website and in the extension. If your membership does not show right away, close and reopen Write It. Manage a membership bought on the website from your Write It account on write-it.us.

Refunds

Apple handles refunds for purchases made in the app, under Apple’s policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com; we cannot refund App Store purchases ourselves. For a membership bought on write-it.us, contact support.

How the reserved 14-day offer works

Confirming the iPhone launch reminder reserves the offer for eligible Free accounts. It begins on your first iPhone sign-in after launch offers are enabled, including an account refresh if you are already signed in. No card is required and there is no automatic charge. Existing paid memberships are preserved. After the offer ends, you can keep using Free or choose a paid plan. The offer is never conditional on leaving a rating.

I am not getting notifications

Open Settings → Notifications in Write It. If permission was previously denied, turn it on in iPhone Settings. Focus modes and system notification settings can hide alerts. The assignment screen remains the source for current progress, even without a notification or Live Activity.

Disconnect or delete my account

Settings → Google Docs → Disconnect stops cloud delivery while keeping your drafts and Google Docs. Settings → Delete account stops jobs, cancels a membership bought on write-it.us, revokes access, and removes stored Write It data. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription: cancel it in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions so Apple stops billing you. Deletion cannot be undone and cleanup may take a few minutes. Your Google Docs stay in your Google account.

Still need a hand?

Tell us your app version from Settings, what you tried, when it happened, and the error you saw. Share an assignment ID if available. Never send passwords, sign-in links, payment card details, or private document content.
